My name is Bren Axon and I am the proprietor of Woofers.
I am passionate about dogs. My husband and I have over 20 years' experience of dog ownership mostly with larger breeds.
My husband and I emigrated to Canada from the UK in 2006. In the UK, I worked in a law firm and was also a Magistrate, presiding in the criminal and family courts.
I spent 8 years volunteering with the RSPCA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) as a branch committee member and branch administrator and, along with the Treasurer was responsible for the day to day running of a very busy branch.
I was also in charge of rehoming the large volume of cats, dogs and small animals that came into our care every year. I was proud to also serve as a member of the Regional Board of the RSPCA for those 8 years.
As can be seen, since emigrating, my life has changed significantly! I am now able to fulfill a dream that I have had since childhood; to work with dogs.
I am now a certified dog trainer and a full member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT), the world's largest dog trainers' association. (Please see below for further details of dog related education and training)
I am constantly reading and updating my knowledge about dogs and dog behaviour as well as attending seminars and workshops in order to further my understanding of our canine companions.
