The key words at Woofers are “Home Away From Home”. There are no kennels or crates. I don’t want you, or your pet to feel stressed while you are away so I promise that your beloved pet will be as cherished as our own dog. Your dog will have the run of our home and can sleep where he or she likes.
During his or her stay, your best friend will be loved, receive plenty of cuddles, doggy company, regular walks and a securely fenced flat yard in which to have fun! I usually board a maximum of four dogs at one time so your dog gets plenty of personal attention.
Woofers is a short drive from the airport and ferry terminals and only 25 minutes from downtown Victoria.
Woofers covers the whole of the greater Victoria area and for a small charge I can usually arrange to collect and deliver your dog if it’s more convenient to you.
Woofers is a smoke and child free environment.
If you don’t have a trusted friend or relative who can take care of your dog when you go away then maybe your beloved pet has to go to a kennel. The truth is that many dogs become extremely stressed in a traditional kennels. I speak from experience as our own dog, Maxie Boy was one of these.
If you need to place your dog in boarding kennels, you might spend time and energy stressing about how your dog is coping while you are gone and how your pet is going to be when you get home. Not much fun for you, or your best friend.
What’s the alternative? Woofers!
One of the things that makes Woofers different is that I am a qualified dog trainer. Therefore, Woofers' clients can be assured that their dog will be taken care of in a knowledgeable and safe environment.
I am only able to board dogs that are well behaved, non-destructive, house-trained, sociable, non-aggressive and have absolutely no issues with other dogs or with people. I am unable to board dogs that are excessive barkers.
I regret that I can't board un-neutered males or unspayed females. At the present time, I am not accepting dogs under the age of one year.
If your dog has separation anxiety or is a rescue dog, please be sure to tell me when you contact me, especially if you have only recently acquired your dog. Recently acquired rescue dogs and dogs with separation anxiety may find it too stressful to be away from their owner as well as their home environment and therefore a pet sitter staying in your home may be more suitable. I am always happy to recommend a pet sitter.

Woofers is located in Brentwood Bay, Central Saanich, a short distance from the airport and ferries which makes it easy for clients to drop off and collect their dogs when travelling by boat or plane.
There are several ways to get in touch with Woofers; by phone, email or through the Woofers Facebook page.
Before I agree to board your dog, I will invite you and your furry friend to come for a no-obligation pre-boarding visit in order to help you decide if you think Woofers will be suitable for your pet and for me to assess whether I feel your dog will be comfortable here.
If you are happy, and if I accept your dog for boarding, I will ask you to complete a detailed information sheet that asks all about your dog, his or her habits and character. This information will help me to understand your dog so that I can make your best friend feel at home.
If you have access to email while you are on vacation, I will email you with links to videos of your dog, so that you can see how much fun your dog is having while you are away!
You can also visit Woofers' Facebook page (click on the icon on any of the pages of this site) where you will find videos on dog training, training articles, updates on what's happening with our boarders, places we have been for walks and generally all things doggy! You can also use the Facebook page to check in and ask me how your dog is doing if you wish.
If you decide that Woofers may be right for you and your dog...
